Thibodaux Police Department’s Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue has announced upcoming road closures for our Historic Downtown Thibodaux area for Friday, August 22, 2025.

As organizers prepare for a concert, police personnel will begin closing city streets at 2:00 P.M. These streets include, W. 2nd Street from Green Street to St. Phillip Street, St. Phillip Street from LA 1 to W. 3rd Street & St. Louis Street from LA 1 to W. 3rd Street.

Beginning at 4:30 P.M., LA State Highway 1 will close from LA 20 (Jackson Street) to Green Street. Message Boards have been placed both east and west of this area as a reminder to motorists.

In addition, all eastbound traffic on W. 3rd Street, will be forced to turn right (southbound) onto St. Phillip Street during the event.

We ask all downtown motorists to also pay close attention to the marked signs that request NO PARKING in certain areas after 12:00 P.M. (Noon) on Friday, August 22, 2025. All streets and parking will be re-opened to the public by 12:00 A.M. (Midnight) on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

Due to the anticipated heavy rainfall, the City of Thibodaux has sand and sandbags available at the Public Works Barn, located at 219 Henry S. Thibodaux Street, for residents to fill as needed. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels, since it is a self-serve station.

A public hearing of the City of Thibodaux of the Parish of Lafourche will be held at the regular meeting place, City Hall, located at, 310 West 2^nd Street, Thibodaux, LA 70301, on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rate after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum.
