Currently, Entergy has reported that residents near Nicholls State University may be experiencing a power outage due to a burnt jumper. Entergy is on scene and reports that about 365 customers are without power. The estimated restoration time is 4:00 PM.

The City of Thibodaux would like to advise residents and motorists that the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) is conducting traffic signal improvements at several intersections throughout the City.

The project includes both full upgrades, which may include mast arm replacements and other signal improvements, and partial upgrades, which primarily involve modifications to existing signal heads.

Motorists should anticipate potential traffic delays and partial lane closures at the following locations while the work is underway:

FULL UPGRADES:

• LA 20 (Jackson Street) / West 1st Street

• LA 1 (East 1st Street) / LA 648 (Percy Brown Road)

• LA 1 (St. Mary Street) / LA 3185 (West Thibodaux Bypass Road)

PARTIAL UPGRADES:

• LA 20 (Jackson Street) / LA 1 (St. Mary Street)

• LA 1 (St. Mary Street) / Tiger Drive

• LA 20 (Canal Boulevard) / LA 308 (East Bayou Road)

• LA 308 (Bayou Road) / LA 3266 (Coulon Plantation Road) / Tiger Drive

• LA 1 (East 1st Street) / Audubon Avenue

• LA 308 (East Bayou Road) / Audubon Avenue

• LA 20 (North Canal Boulevard) / Rienzi Drive

• LA 20 (North Canal Boulevard) / Rue Loudun

• LA 20 (Canal Boulevard) / LA 3107 (Talbot Avenue)

The City encourages motorists to exercise caution, allow additional travel time, and be mindful of workers and equipment in active construction areas.

The Lafourche Parish Water District No. 1 issued a boil water advisory for all of St. Charles and Bayou Blue. These areas include portions of Thibodaux and Raceland in communities between Lafourche Crossing and the South Coast Gas Office (on both sides of Bayou Lafourche), in Raceland along and adjoining HWY 182, HWY 652, HWY 653, and the North Service Road, as well as the entire Bayou Blue community.

This boil water advisory does NOT affect residents living in the City of Thibodaux, and the water is safe.
