On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11 AM, the City of Thibodaux was notified by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals that the water samples collected were cleared and that the boil water advisory is now rescinded.
The City of Thibodaux would like to sincerely thank the community for their patience and understanding.
The water line has been temporarily repaired and water pressure is back fully functional for Acadia Woods Subdivision. The previous Boil Water Advisory for the below-listed area WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT until further notice.
(ORIGINAL POST)
The Thibodaux Police Department and the City of Thibodaux - Municipal Government Public Works Department are aware of the water leak located at the southeast corner of Percy Brown Road & Acadia Woods Drive.
Our Public Works Department has accessed the leak and are making preparations to make the repair as soon as possible. In the meantime, you will continue to see a small amount of water consistently protruding from the ground in front yard of the Acadia Fire Station.
Public Works has been tirelessly working since early morning hours and has narrowed down the affected customers to strictly the Acadia Woods Subdivision. These residents will still experience low water pressure until the repair is completed.
A boil water advisory IS in effect for all city limit residents and businesses located east of Bowie Road at North/South Acadia Road until further notice. This includes Thibodaux Regional Wellness Center, Acadia Point Subdivision, Acadia Plantation Subdivision, Acadia Woods Subdivision, Acadia Villa Apartments and all other surrounding business’ located east of Bowie Road and the North/South Acadia intersection. Nicholls State University is north of this location and is NOT included in the boil water advisory.
An update will be given as it can be made available. Please follow the Thibodaux Police Department and City of Thibodaux facebook pages for updates.
