Today Governor John Bel Edwards issued a new emergency declaration extending the public health emergency for 28 more days, while also relaxing restrictions statewide. All capacity and socially distancing restrictions have been lifted for: Restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, beauty shops, salons, barbershops, shopping malls/centers, casinos, racetracks, video poker establishments, gyms and fitness centers, athletic events, event centers and reception halls, bars, conventions and conferences, inside and outside events.
There is a federal mask mandate for all transportation hubs and systems, including on airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, taxis, ride shares and in the corresponding transportation hubs. The statewide mask mandate has been lifted. Educational institutions can lift the mask mandate at the end of the 2021 school year. In observance of Memorial Day, City of Thibodaux offices will close on Monday, May 31, 2021. The Warren J. Harang Jr. Municipal Auditorium will also be closed to walkers on the aforementioned day. Trash collection schedule will not be interrupted. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

The City of Thibodaux Department of Housing and Community Development is collaborating with the Louisiana Department of Health, Region 3 Office of Public Health, and the Louisiana National Guard to conduct a COVID-19 vaccination event. The event will take place on Thursday, May 27, 2021, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Peltier Park, which is located at 151 Peltier Park Drive Thibodaux, LA 70301. Both Pfizer (2 doses) and Johnson & Johnson (1 dose) will be offered. Please see the attached flyer for this event to register for a vaccination appointment.
