The City of Thibodaux just participated in a statewide conference call with the National Weather Service. The City of Thibodaux is linked in with Lafourche Parish, Nicholls, the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, the National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center in tracking this storm. The City is in the process of cleaning the catch basins as well as picking up the trash in city garbage cans. The Mayor has activated the City of Thibodaux Unified Command Group (UCG) in order to make decisions based upon the City of Thibodaux Emergency Operations Plan. The UCG will remain active through the weekend and the storm. Residents are asked to prepare for possible storm effects beginning on Sunday afternoon. The City will update organizations, businesses, and residents as the storm evolves.

On Thursday, August 26, 2021, the City of Thibodaux will be repairing the overlay on Bowie Road, between Ardoyne Drive and North Acadia. This area will be closed from approximately 6:30 AM to 5 PM. There will be someone available to direct traffic to give access to the hospital.

City Office Closure: Labor Day

In observance of Labor Day, City of Thibodaux offices will close on Monday, September 6, 2021. The Warren J. Harang Jr. Municipal Auditorium will also be closed to walkers on the aforementioned day. Trash collection schedule will not be interrupted. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
