The City of Thibodaux is currently in the active phase of recovery operations. A curfew remains in effect from dusk to dawn until further notice. City of Thibodaux roads are cleared at 90% and will begin debris removal; also, water and sewer production remains in tack and working to restore power.

The City of Thibodaux would like to ask everyone to shelter in place and stay off the roads. The time to evacuate has passed. A curfew remains in effect until further notice and it exists for the safety of everyone in the area. First Responders will not be responding to calls as it is not safe to be outside. The outer and mid bands are making landfall now. These next 12 hours will bring substantial winds with the worst between 5-9 PM. The City of Thibodaux is currently in the active phase of this storm and expects primarily a wind event. Residents can expect downed power lines and are reminded to stay away from them for their own safety.

The City of Thibodaux continues to be involved in the response to Hurricane Ida at the local, parish, state and federal levels. The City of Thibodaux will implement a curfew starting at 6:00 PM tonight until further notice. This storm is expected to be primarily a wind event with the worst of the winds coming between 5:00 PM-9:00 PMon Sunday. Residents are asked to stay off the roads during the curfew for the safety of everyone in the area. City of Thibodaux workers will continue to conduct storm tasks from now until tomorrow morning. They will shelter in place as storm winds exceed 30 mph. Mayor Eschete would like to remind those who plan to evacuate, do it now. Once the curfew is in effect, residents should shelter in place throughout the storm. Businesses are reminded to close during the curfew for the safety of their employees. First Responders will be sheltering in place as Hurricane Ida makes landfall. City of Thibodaux workers, Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department Fire Fighters and Utility workers will begin clearing roads and restoring power once winds drop below 30 mph. This will not occur until Monday morning.
