Effective today, December 13, 2023, the Lafourche Parish Government will be conducting building maintenance to the Government Building located on the St. Louis St. side of their downtown complex.

St. Louis Street between W. 4th and W. 5th will be closed to traffic throughout the day today. Please use an alternate route.

Friday, December 15, 2023, the intersection of Mimosa St. and Hickory St. Will be closed intermittently to vehicular traffic. The City of Thibodaux’s Public Works Department will be installing culverts in the area as part of a City drainage project.

We apologize for any inconvenience as we proceed with this critical city improvement project.

The City of Thibodaux mailed a total of 6937 property tax notices on NOVEMBER 17, 2023. Taxes are due by DECEMBER 31, 2023.

For any property that was sold over the past year, the owner of record at the beginning of the year may receive the tax notice. Sometimes the tax is prorated at the time of the sale, and it is the responsibility of the new property owner to see that all taxes due on the property are paid.

Homeowners with mortgages are advised to check with their mortgage companies before remitting payment to the City. The front side of the tax bill will note if your mortgage company has requested a copy of your tax assessment.

Please contact the Tax & License Office at (985) 446-7221 or (985) 446-7207 between 8:00AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday for any questions regarding City tax bills.

Taxes can be paid in any of the following ways:

2. Payments can be made by phone until 4:00 PM with Visa or MasterCard by calling the Tax & License Office at 985-446-7207 or (985) 446-7221.

3. Payments can be made in person at any of the following locations:

2. Utility Drive-up Window – Cash & Check ONLY and Must have current bill.

3. Night Drop Box located in front of City Hall – Check Only

B. Stark Complex

1. Night Drop Box located in front of Police Station

Visa, MasterCard and Discover accepted in addition to cash, check and money orders for property tax payments. Credit card payments are subject to a 3.5% fee or $2.50 minimum.
