Thibodaux, LA – The City of Thibodaux would like to inform residents of the Pelican Waste and Debris schedule for garbage, bulky waste, white goods, and recycling schedule. The schedule is as follows: twice a week collection of garbage, once a week collection of bulky waste (2 cubic yards per), once a week collection of white goods (upon request), and once a week collection of recycled items.
For the residential routes for regular garbage, bulk and white goods pick up, please see the attached maps.
The recycling schedule is as follows - All residents SOUTH of Bayou Lafourche (LA 1 side) recyclables will be collected on Tuesday; all residents NORTH of Bayou Lafourche (Hwy 308 side) recyclables will be collected on Wednesday. Recycled items include paper products, aluminum, tin cans, and plastic containers; NO GLASS. Paper products include newspapers, magazines, cardboard, computer paper, etc. Garbage cans and recycling bins can be obtained by contacting the City of Thibodaux Public Works Department at (985) 446-7223 and picked up at the Public Works Barn on 1219 Henry S. Thibodaux Road Monday – Friday from 7 AM – 4 PM. If you would like an additional can, there will be a one-time fee of $70 (No additional charge for the service of an extra can).
Suggestions for quicker and cleaner pickup:
· Large, bulky items such as washers, refrigerators and furniture should be placed at the curbside.
· Tree branches and bushes should be tied securely in bundles or no more than 6 ft. in length and 2 ft. in diameter, and not weigh more than 75 pounds.
· Tree stumps and tree limbs should be cut into sections that do not weigh more than 75 pounds.
· Any tree debris cut by a contractor is the responsibility of the contractor to dispose of. The City will not pick up contractor-related debris.

In observance of Independence Day, City of Thibodaux offices will close on Monday, July 5, 2021. The Warren J. Harang Jr. Municipal Auditorium will also be closed to walkers on the aforementioned day. Trash collection schedule will not be interrupted. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
