The City of Thibodaux will host a tax sale on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at City Hall, 310 West 2nd St, Thibodaux, LA.
This sale is open to the general public however bidders will need to register prior to the Tax Sale. A tax title sale is the sale of properties that have delinquent taxes due. The tax titles for these properties are sold to the public for the amount of the delinquent taxes due, plus any accrued interest, penalties, costs, and statutory impositions. The tax title sale is a low-bid wins-style auction in which the property is sold to the purchases willing to bid on the least percent ownership interest in the property. Winning bidders of the tax sale are expected to pay for their purchases at the end of the tax sale. Payment must be made in one installment and all sales are final.
Property owners must remit property tax payments by 4:00 P.M. on Monday, June 7, 2021, to avoid having their property subject to sale. Bills not paid in full by this time will result in the property being sold at Tuesday’s tax sale. Tax payments can be made at City Hall (310 West 2nd St., Thibodaux, LA) or by phone with a Visa or Mastercard by calling (985) 446-4221 or (985) 446-4207.

The City of Thibodaux will accept applications for the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program Waitlist. This program is a federally funded program which supplements the rental payment of extremely low and very low income families. The program is funded by HUD.
Once on the waitlist, the following preferences will be given: Extremely Low Income and Elderly or Disabled.
Applicants residing outside of the City of Thibodaux will be required to lease a unit within our jurisdiction for one year before using portability.
In order to ensure everyone’s safety in light of possible COVID-19 restrictions, a call in procedure ONLY will be utilized. 100 applications will be accepted. YOU CAN NOT APPLY IN PERSON. APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AS FOLLOWS:

Today Governor John Bel Edwards issued a new emergency declaration extending the public health emergency for 28 more days, while also relaxing restrictions statewide. All capacity and socially distancing restrictions have been lifted for: Restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, beauty shops, salons, barbershops, shopping malls/centers, casinos, racetracks, video poker establishments, gyms and fitness centers, athletic events, event centers and reception halls, bars, conventions and conferences, inside and outside events.
There is a federal mask mandate for all transportation hubs and systems, including on airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, taxis, ride shares and in the corresponding transportation hubs. The statewide mask mandate has been lifted. Educational institutions can lift the mask mandate at the end of the 2021 school year. State of Louisiana correctional institutions still require masks for inmates and employees. View More
