Tropical Storm Nicholas track has shifted to the east and we are projected to receive 4-6 inches of rainfall and wind gusts of 25-30 mph starting Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in the evening for approximately 24 hours. The City of Thibodaux would like to remind residents to start storm preparations as soon as possible. Please try to secure and contain previous storm debris from Hurricane Ida as much as possible and to check catch basins for debris.

The City of Thibodaux will be partnering with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in an initiative to provide support recovery efforts associated with the Major Disaster Declaration in Louisiana for Hurricane Ida. The Thibodaux Municipal Airport, located at 100 Airport Road Shriever, LA 70395, will be used to stage a large-scale logistics staging base for supplies moving into and throughout the area for the Louisiana National Guard. The City of Thibodaux will continue to serve as a hub to all seven Bayou and River Parishes in our region. With the approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Thibodaux Municipal Airport’s runways will be closed effective Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 5:00 PM to all aircrafts for 60 days with the possibility of an extension based on the state of the recovery.
