City Offices to Close in Observance of Independence Day

In observance of Independence Day, City of Thibodaux offices will close on Friday, July 3, 2020. The Warren J. Harang Jr. Municipal Auditorium will also be closed to walkers on the aforementioned day. Trash collection schedule will not be interrupted. Normal operating hours will resume on Monday, July 6, 2020.

Yesterday Governor John Bel Edwards indicated his intention to extend the emergency declaration for Louisiana to remain in phase two of the U.S. Guidelines for Re-opening. He will officially sign the executive order on Friday, June 26, 2020, that extends phase two until July 24.2020. The City of Thibodaux will remain in compliance will all-state and parish emergency declarations. The City phase two and phase three guidelines are below:
Phase Two started June 8, 2020/Changes June 23, 2020:
- City playgrounds, buildings, fields (not programs) will remain open using state fire marshal capacity limits
- Playground equipment will be cleaned once/week
- City buildings will open with limited hours (8 am-2 pm)
- Business activity continues with drive-up/online/dropbox and physical activity no longer requires medical screening for members of the public
- All meetings continue with physical activity using state fire marshal capacity limits
- Employees must self-clean workspace once/week
- All departments will regulate state fire marshal capacity limits in the respective departments
- The pool and splash pad remains closed
Phase Three Target Start Date July 27, 2020:
- City Parks and Recreation will allow weekend baseball tournaments starting in Louisiana phase 3 beginning on July 25, 2020
- City buildings return to normal business hours
- State fire marshal capacity limits will be situational and applied by Department Heads as required
- All physical meetings will adhere to the state fire marshal capacity limits
- The public using City programs must agree to all guidelines as set by the City
