The City of Thibodaux has set trick-or-treating hours on Halloween for Sunday, October 31st from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. During those hours, police will be patrolling the neighborhoods in the City to ensure the children’s safety.

The City of Thibodaux would like to thank all of the organizations, businesses, and residents for their efforts in pushing debris to the City servitudes. The debris collection began on September 5, 2021, and the contractors just completed the first pass in all City neighborhoods this past weekend. The contractors are using GIS mapping as a quality control tool in debris collection and debris site management. The GIS map breaks the City of Thibodaux into debris collection zones. To date, the contractors have cleared approximately 80,000 cubic yards of vegetation debris, 15,000 cubic yards of construction debris, 42 hazardous trees, and 647 hazardous limbs. The contractor is managing two different debris management sites, one for vegetation and one for construction debris. The City of Thibodaux is reviewing the GIS mapping daily to facilitate the second pass in all neighborhoods. The City of Thibodaux is supervising the debris collection in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to ensure the contractor remains in compliance with all state and federal laws. The debris collection and management continues and the City estimates another two full weeks of collection and management at the debris sites. Please rest assured that the debris contractors will NOT leave the City until all debris has been collected. If you have any additional debris that needs to be collected, please put it by the road as soon as possible. We appreciate the partnership with everyone in our community and will continue to build upon the recovery every day in the future.
