The City of Thibodaux would like to advise residents and motorists of an upcoming roadway improvement project by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD).
The project will include patching, milling, and overlaying LA 1 from LA 182 to the St. Patrick Bridge.
Tree trimming associated with the project began on September 21, 2026, and will continue during daytime hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Beginning September 28, 2026, the contractor will begin asphalt patching during nighttime hours from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The patching portion of the project will begin at the St. Patrick Bridge in Thibodaux, with the contractor progressing along LA 1 toward LA 182.
Alternating lane closures will be in place during all phases of the project. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone, allow additional travel time, and follow all posted signage and traffic-control measures.
Once the asphalt patching is complete, the contractor will begin the milling and overlay of LA 1 from the St. Patrick Bridge to LA 182. The City of Thibodaux will provide residents and motorists with additional information and advance notice prior to the start of this portion of the project.
