Between Monday, September 14, 2026, and Friday, September 18, 2026, the City of Thibodaux’s Public Works Department will be conducting a smoke test on the sewer lines in the following areas: Young Place, People Street, Susan Street, Ridgefield Road, General Nicholls Avenue, Henderson Street, Lawrence Avenue, Bradford Street, Washington Avenue, and Josephine Avenue. The smoke test will run in the morning. The smoke that will be coming out of the sewer lines will have a cherry fragrance that can potentially go into homes and is safe as well as non-toxic. City of Thibodaux Public Works employees will be walking around homes looking for possible leaks. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 985-446-7223.
