The City of Thibodaux just participated in a statewide
conference call with the National Weather Service. The City of Thibodaux
is linked in with Lafourche Parish, Nicholls, the Governor’s Office of Homeland
Security and Emergency Preparedness, the National Weather Service and the
National Hurricane Center in tracking this storm. The City is in the
process of cleaning the catch basins as well as picking up the trash in city
garbage cans. The Mayor has activated the City of Thibodaux Unified Command
Group (UCG) in order to make decisions based upon the City of Thibodaux
Emergency Operations Plan. The UCG will remain active through the weekend
and the storm. Residents are asked to prepare for possible storm effects
beginning on Sunday afternoon. The City will update organizations,
businesses, and residents as the storm evolves.
