Update: Tropical Storms Marco and Laura

TS Marco and TS Laura continue to move towards land within 40 hours of each other. TS Marco will reach land in the next 12 hours and will arrive mainly as a wind event. Based on the nature of this storm it will continue to move West along Louisiana and decrease in strength. TS Laura has the potential to reach hurricane status and will arrive at landfall Wednesday during the day. TS Laura is moving very fast at 21 mph and continues to track towards the North to Northwest. Residents, businesses, and organizations should continue to monitor the City website for updates. As of now, City workers are focused on protective measures for both of these storms. City buildings will remain closed from Monday at 10:00 am through Tuesday.
