Thibodaux City Marshal
The Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, Section 13 Article 1881 established the office of City Marshal and reads, “The Marshal is the executive officer of the court. He shall execute the orders and mandates of the court and in the execution thereof, and in making arrests and preserving the peace, he has the same powers and authorities of a Sheriff.”
The primary responsibilities of the Thibodaux City Marshal’s Office include Municipal Court Security, Warrant Execution, Prisoner Transportation, Civil & Criminal Process Service to include Subpoenas, Citations, Judgments, and Repossessions. In addition to these services, the Thibodaux City Marshal’s Office provides assistance to Local, State and Federal agencies as needed, as well as providing security as needed to local citizens and businesses.
