Ted MadereOur Tuesday, August 19 Senior Mayor for a Day is Ms. Delores Ruby Mae Streams:  As our usual itinerary for this program starts at 8:30 a.m., Honorary Mayor Streams was here at 8:00 a.m. on the dot.  What better way to start the day than early?  Not only was everyone from City Hall impressed by her early punctuality, but we were all so excited about our first EVER woman Mayor!  Mayor Streams replied, “It’s just an honor for ME to be here.”  As she greeted all of the employees around the building, everyone couldn’t help to notice how cute-as-a-button she is.  As the morning started off, she sang a song to both the Mayor and members of the staff meeting:  May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You.  Her professionalism also impressed everyone as she addressed issues to the Mayor such as parking at the Senior Citizen’s Center.  Both Mayor Charles Caillouet and Honorary Mayor Streams ended the morning with lunch at Politz’s Restaurant (courtesy of Politz).  Named after a boat her mother saw one day (the Ruby Mae), Mayor Streams lives in Thibodaux and is 72 years old.  She loves to spend time helping others and playing cards at the Senior Citizen’s Center.
