 for our

Spring City-Wide Garage Sale

Admission is only $1.00


The Thibodaux Civic Center is coordinating an indoor garage sale to help give residents a safe and weatherproof chance to rid themselves of unwanted usable items.

Join us on March 23rd for a new kind of rummage sale experience.  Booth space is starting as low as $15.00.

Anyone interested in purchasing a booth or for more information, please contact the Thibodaux Civic Center at 446-7260 or through our website at ci.thibodaux.la.us.

Ø     ThibodauxParks & Recreation will begin “Senior Citizens’ Chair Aerobics”classes on Thursday, March 14, 2002 at the Thibodaux Senior Citizen’s Centerlocated on Canal Boulevard.  Theclasses will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Monday and Thursday of eachweek.  Sarah Day Robichaux Foretwill be the instructor.  For moreinformation contact 446-7232.


Ø     Thibodauxand E.D. White High School students will be participating in the ‘Mayor for aDay’ program in conjunction with Lafourche Parish Student Government Day onMonday, March 18th.  GeneGouaux will be “shadowing” Mayor Charles Caillouet for the day while therest of the students will be with other City officials. The students will attendthe City Council meeting at 10:00 a.m.


Ø     Congratulationsto the Thibodaux Area Habitat for Humanity! Atmos Energy (formerly Trans-La Gas) donated a building to Habitat. The building will be ready sometime in April and will open as a resalestore that will sell only items for the home--dishes, lamps, furniture, drapes,etc. and some building supplies.  This will make it possible forhomeowners, local residents and others to buy good items at good prices. The money will be used to build more houses. People who donate items to the homestore help out by making a differencein Habitat lives and they get a tax deduction for their donations; the peoplewho buy the items help future Habitat families get their houses built sooner. It’s a win-win situation!


Ø     Those who would like to donate items,time or money, or know someone who is interested in donating to our localThibodaux Habitat, should contact the affiliate’s Executive Director, MikiPfeffer @ 447-6999.  Donations arealso being taken for the Spring City-Wide Garage Sale at the Civic Center onSaturday, March 23.  They areaccepting only household items. Please do not bring clothes. Drop the items offat the Thibodaux Civic Center on Friday, March 22nd, between 8:00 and10:00 a.m.  If you need items pickedup, feel free to call Miki.
