  City of Thibodaux Property Taxes

City of Thibodaux property tax bills are mailed to the owner of record by December 1st of each year. Taxes are due by December 31st and become delinquent January 1st. By law, interest must be paid on delinquent taxes at a rate of 1% per month or any part of a month thereof.
Homeowners with mortgages are advised to check with their mortgage companies before remitting payment to the City. Reverse side of tax bills will note if your mortgage company has requested a copy of your tax assessment for the current year.
For any property that is sold in a year, the owner of record at the beginning of that year may receive the tax notice. Sometimes the tax is prorated at the sale, and it is the responsibility of the new property owner to see that all taxes due on the property are paid
Visa and MasterCard are now being accepted in addition to cash, check and money orders for property tax payments. Please do not include any other monies owed to the City with tax payment.
