Suspicious Behavior

On Monday, September 12, 2005, the Thibodaux Police Department received information regarding the suspicious behavior of tenants and visitors at 305 “B” Park Drive in Thibodaux.  The information reported to the Thibodaux Police indicated that several unauthorized subjects were residing inside the residence as well as possible drug activity.

At approximately 10:30 AM, the Thibodaux Police Department’s Housing Division along with the Narcotics Division arrived at 305 “B” Park Drive.  Upon the front door opening, contact was made with tenant Dion Southall.  After the Thibodaux Officers informed Dion of the reason for their visit,  the Thibodaux Officers conducted a search of her residence.

Inside the residence, Thibodaux Officers discovered an additional six subjects living inside the residence besides Dion Southall.  The search yielded a small amount of Marijuana. One of the subjects was identified as Courtney Southall and was placed under arrest and issued a Misdemeanor Summons for (1ct) “Possession of Marijuana”.   Also discovered inside the residence was an identification card issued to Torrance Nelson on 7/21/05 listing his address as 305 “B” Park Drive.  When Thibodaux Police Officers asked Torrance where he resided, he answered, 305 “B” Park Drive.  After another subject attempted to correct him, Torrance changed his statement about residing at the residence.

Due to the conflict in Torrance’s statement, the amount of subjects found within the residence, and the seized Marijuana, Dion was issued an eviction notice by the Thibodaux Housing Authority ordering that she has five days to vacate the property.
