Folse Arrested with Taser

 

The Thibodaux Police Department, utilizing the X26 Tazer,arrested a very combative Jeremy Folse, a 22-year-old male of 1300 Louise StreetThibodaux.  Folse was observed by aThibodaux Police Officer, yelling at and pushing a female subject. The female was pushed and fell to the ground. Officers of the Thibodaux Police Department and a deputy from LafourcheParish Sheriffs Office responded to the scene, which was on West Fifth Streetnear Jackson Street. 

Officers approached Folse and he was advised that he wasbeing placed under arrest.  Folsewas also advised to place his hands on the hood of a nearby vehicle in order tobe handcuffed and searched.  Folsedid not cooperate with the instructions and started fighting with the arrestingofficer who was now being assisted by other officers.  

In the refusal to comply with the officers’ requests tostop resisting arrest, Folse began striking, kicking out at or pushing thearresting officers. He struck three officers in this resisting.  Officers then were ordered to back away by a Sergeant, alsoon the scene and one of the officers struck by the resisting Folse. The sergeant then advised Folse that if he did not comply, he was goingto be struck by the “Taser”.  Folsewas warned three times to stop resisting or the “Taser” would be used. Folse, still refusing to comply, was struck by the electrodes deployed bythe “Taser” which resulted in Folse immediately dropping to the ground. Officers then applied handcuffs to Folse and transported him to theThibodaux Police Station where he was booked. Folse was charged with battery, disturbing the peace, resisting anofficer, battery of a police officer.  Folsewas released after posting bond at the Thibodaux Police Station in the amount oftwo thousand, one hundred, fifty dollars, ($2,150.00).
