Frank arrested  for Unauthorized Entry

The Thibodaux Police Department announces the arrest ofChris A. Frank, a 22 year-old male with the last known address of 542 St.Charles Street Thibodaux, La.   Officersof the Thibodaux Police Department took Frank into custody at approximately11:120A.M.  This occurred at aresidence located on Notre Dame Street in the City of Thibodaux.

The Thibodaux Police Department received a telephone callat approximately 11:13 A.M. from an unknown female who was using a cellulartelephone.  The caller only stated,“send the police to 135 Notre Dame Street”. Police arrived on the scene and knocked on the door several times but noone answered.  Officers reportedhearing noise inside the residence indicating that there was someone inside. Officers again knocked at the door and a female ran outside and statedthat there was someone inside the residence. Officers entered the residence as requested by the female tenant andlocated Chris Frank inside.  Frank was brought out and Officers were briefed by the tenantof incidents that transpired at her residence since approximately 2 A.M. thismorning until she was able to call for assistance at 11:13 A.M.

The tenant advised that she located Frank inside herresidence this morning at approximately 2 A.M. She had returned from being out at a local club. She told Officers that she encountered Frank, who was known to her fromthe past, at this club and he threatened her with bodily harm. She advised that when she discovered Frank hiding inside of herresidence, he threatened to beat her with a wrench and also threatened to stabwith another object if she did not cooperate. She was then bound with duct tape and was raped.

The tenant/victim, advised that she managed to get to aconcealed cellular telephone and dialed 911 which was transferred to theThibodaux Police Department Dispatcher.  Sheadvised that when police arrived, Frank was trying to keep her quiet but shemade a noise to alert Police Officers that there was someone in the house. Frank looked out of a window to try and see who was at the door and thevictim managed to escape and exit to where police were located.

Detectives were contacted and responded to the scene togather any evidence or statements while Frank was transported to the ThibodauxPolice Station.  The victim wastransported to the Thibodaux Regional Hospital for the usual rape examinationnormally conducted by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office or an appointedphysician at the hospital.

Evidence collected led to the questioning of Frank who wascharged with Aggravated Rape.  Othercharges may follow as a result of more investigation into this matter. There was also an existing warrant for the arrest of Chris Frank issuedthrough Thibodaux City Court for Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling. This warrant was issued on November 4, 2003. The alleged unauthorized entry took place at 135 Notre Dame Street.

Chris Frank will be transported to the Lafourche ParishDetention Center upon the completion of the questioning by Detectives. There is no bond set for Frank at the time of this information release.
