It is again time to plant summer annual flowers herein Thibodaux. During the next weekyou will notice the city workers and the landscape maintenance person pullingout the Petunias that have been a vibrant display of color this spring. This is being done to prepare the Boulevard for the next splash of colorscheduled to bloom this summer. May12, 2001 is the date scheduled for the City of Thibodaux, the ThibodauxBeautification Coalition, along with many community volunteers to come out andplant this year’s array to include Portulaca and Begonias. “I get excited when a new planting season arrives and we can lookforward to the endless possibilities of beauty ahead of us. We have to plant the summer flowers now in order for them to maturebefore it is again time to plant the winter annuals”, said Cindy Griffin, CityHorticulturist. “Without thesupport of Thibodaux Beautification Coalition and many community volunteers, ourbeautiful boulevard would not be possible”, said Mayor Charles Caillouet. This year the city has received many compliments from residents andvisitors. The city urges anyone whois interested to come out on Saturday, May 12 at 9:00am, to the Civic Centerparking lot and help by being a part of this project that instills communitypride.
