The annual Christmas parade and Christmas Spectacular was held this past Sunday, December 1, 2002.  “The event was even bigger and better than last year. The Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce did a fantastic job coordinating the Christmas parade. ” said Cindy Griffin – City Horticulturist.  Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause made a special appearance at City Hall and created big smiles as the children waited to greet them.  Special thanks go out to all those who performed and participated to make this year’s Christmas Spectacular a huge success.
  Mayor Charles Caillouet, City Council, Directors, and staff at City Hall welcomed students from Thibodaux for the annual “Trim the City Hall Christmas Tree” event today – Thursday, December 05, 2002.  Two students from each school in Thibodaux were invited to City Hall where they painted an ornament depicting a representation of their school.  Sixteen children participated in the event.  Their ornaments were hung on the Christmas tree inside City Hall.  Please take time to stop and view the artistic ornaments designed by our City’s children.   A "Spiritual Christmas" will be held at the Civic Center on December 6, 9:00 a.m. & December 8, 2:00 p.m. Contact the Civic Center at 448-5215 for more information.
  Thibodaux's Reindeer Run, Wednesday, December 11th . A Promotion of Thibodaux Main Street, Inc. Visit one of the many stores that will include: Sales and discounts on many items, great Christmas gifts, Santa, Refreshments, and Christmas Caroling. Click here for more information.
  Poinsettia Open House. The LSU Ag Center's poinsettia open house will be held Dec. 11-12 at Nelson Memorial on campus. Time is 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. until noon on Thursday. New and old cultivars for this year and introductions for next year from the five poinsettia breeders in the United States will be on display. Research results from the Ag Center, as well as information on research from a nationwide program that included trials at 10 universities, also will be available.
