Mosquito Control Program
- The City of Thibodaux will continue its Mosquito Control Program through the month of October. Mayor Charles Caillouet said that due to the extensive rainfall and resulting standing water, the City will take all necessary steps to control the mosquito population and to protect the citizens of our community. If it is deemed necessary, the Mosquito Control Program may be continued after October.
Farmerís Market on Hold - Due to flooding from Tropical Storm Isidore and Hurricane Lili, the opening of the Thibodaux Farmers Market will remain on-hold until further notice by the LSU Ag Center and the Thibodaux Main Street Board. According to Joyce Benoit, Main Street Manager, area growers along with local seafood producers were completely wiped out by the storms. The fall market is tentatively scheduled to open sometime in November, possibly on or before the weekend of Thibodeauxville. The City of Thibodaux and the Thibodaux Main Street Board would like to thank the community for its past support of the Farmers Market and are looking forward to another successful market season.
