“Attempted 2ndDegree Murder”
Back on March 13, 2006, shortly aftermidnight, the Thibodaux Police Department responded to a complaint of shotsfired in the area of the south end of St. Charles Street.
As Thibodaux Officers responded to St. Charles Street, they were informedthat a second complaint was called in by the ThibodauxRegional MedicalCenter’s Emergency Centeradvising that a gun shot victim arrived for treatment. When policearrived at the emergency room they were informed that the victim had not beenshot, but suffered from an injury received during the shooting. Aninterview with the victim revealed that he was riding in the rear seat of avehicle when he heard shots fired followed by the rear window shattering. The victim was treated and released.
Through an intensiveinvestigation by the Thibodaux Police Department’s Criminal InvestigationsDivision, the shooter was identified as 23 year old Eric Robertson (b/m of 1224 Cleveland Street in Thibodaux). Unable to locateRobertson, a warrant was obtained for his arrest. On March 17, 2006,Robertson was located in the 200 block of Sanders Street where he was taken intocustody on an Attempted 2nd Degree Murder warrant. While beingbooked, it was discovered that Robertson also had three out standing warrantsthrough the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office. The warrants throughLafourche consisted of Speeding, No Drivers License, and Failure to SupplyRegistration. After booking was complete, Robertson was transported tothe Lafourche Parish Detention Center with a $151250.00bond, where he remains.
