Habitat Items Stolen

Last night at around 10:00PM, an off-duty Thibodaux Police Officer observed a suspicious vehicle along with three suspicious subjects at the corner of West 8th and Jackson Street. The off-duty officer quickly contacted his fellow on-duty police officers and reported that he observed the three subjects load furniture and other items into the back of their pick-up truck.

With a direction of travel and a description of the truck given, responding police officers soon located and stopped the vehicle. The driver and passenger were identified as Gloria Jones (35 y/o, B/F) and Antoine Calloway (36 y/o, B/M), both of 492 Paula Drive in Thibodaux. Calloway and Jones were then escorted in the truck to the Thibodaux Police Department. Through questioning, police learned the identity of the third subject involved, Andrew Johnlewis (26y/o, B/M of 521 LA HWY 20 in Schriever). After police confirmed that Calloway, Jones and Johnlewis did not have permission to take the furniture and items from the Habitat Home Store, they were placed under arrest and each was issued a Misdemeanor Summons for “Theft”. After the furniture and items were returned back to the Habitat Home Store, all were released.
