Thibodaux woman arrested for identity theft

Thibodaux Police Department reports that a patrol officeron special assignment arrested Taneisha Clark, 19-year-old female of 103 AliceCt. in Thibodaux, La. This arrest was for several charges. The Thibodaux Police Departments Detective Division worked cases thatresulted in several warrants being issued through Thibodaux City Court for thearrest of Clark.

Lt.Malcolm J. Dupre, Public Information officer for the Thibodaux PoliceDepartment, announced that Officer D. Kim Lane has been working on specialassignment with the U.S. Marshals Eastern Louisiana Fugitive Apprehension TaskForce for approximately two weeks.  OfficerLane was assigned as a Special Agent with that agency and was conductinginvestigations to gather information concerning the whereabouts of severalpeople that were wanted by various local law enforcement agencies. One of the people Officer Lane was assigned to seek the whereabouts, sowarrants could be executed, was that of Taneisha Clark, a person who frequentsresidences in Thibodaux, Napoleonville or Terrebonne Parish. Officer lane followed up on leads of Clark’s whereabouts, which led toClark turning herself in to Officer Lane at the Thibodaux Police Station.

TaneishaClark was booked by Officer Lane and charged with two counts of identity theft,five counts of Issuing Worthless checks and five counts of Forgery. Thesecharges were results of investigations by the Detective Division of theThibodaux Police Department. Clark wasalso charged with failure to appear for a trial in Thibodaux City Court. In addition to the charges for crimes allegedly committed in Thibodaux,Clark was charged with being a fugitive from another agency involving fifty-one,(51) counts of Issuing Worthless Checks in Terrebonne Parish.

Clark was transported to the Lafourche ParishDetention Center.  Clark’s bondhas been set for all charges at $29,700.00.
