On February 22, 2003 at 12:43a.m. Officers of the Thibodaux Police Department responded to the Last Call at the intersection of West 3rd Street and St. Philip for the report a fight outside.

Lt. Malcolm Dupre was first to arrive and break up the fight, but two suspects did flee the area.  Lt. Dupre was able to give a description of the two who were then quickly apprehended three blocks away by responding officers.  They were then brought back to the scene where Lt. Dupre and the victim made positive identification.  The victim was identified as Corey Clement Age 19 of 117 Montegut.

Witnesses and bar room employees stated that one of the suspects had actually hit the victim in the head with a beer bottle, which was evident by the head injury.  Mr. Clement was tended by Acadian Ambulance Services and was then transported to Terrebonne General Hospital.

The two suspects were then identified as Toby Prejean Age 22 of 7131 Hwy. 308 in Bellerose and Chad Patrone Age 19 of 118 Halfway Road in Donaldsonville.  The two were then brought to Thibodaux Police Department where they were booked accordingly.

Mr. Prejean was booked for Disturbing the Peace by Fighting and Criminal Damage to Property.  He was later released.

Mr. Patrone was booked for Aggravated Battery and then brought to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center to await bond.
