On the morning of February 15, 2003 Sgt. Sherman Berry and Officer John Sutton Jr. of the Thibodaux Police Department responded to a home located in the West side of Thibodaux for the report of a domestic disturbance.
Upon officer’s arrival, they could hear a female crying on the inside of the home. Officers looked and could see a male standing over the crying female who was yelling for help. The male was later identified as Ryan O’neal Woodard, Age 30 of 219 Crozier Drive in Houma, LA. Officers then made forcible entry into the home through the locked front door and began to take Mr. Woodard into custody. Mr. Woodard was then told he was under arrest, but opted to resist and run from the residence and officers. Mr. Woodard was able to escape.
The female was then treated by Acadian Ambulance Services and later transported to Thibodaux Regional where it was determined that she did receive multiple injuries to include bruising about the body, several small cuts, and a broken bone on the left foot.
Warrants were then issued for Mr. Woodard for Aggravated Burglary and Resisting an Officer. Total bond for the two warrants are $26,000.00.
Mr. Woodard is described as a black male of medium build, 5’11’’ tall and approximately 200 lbs. Mr. Woodard is also 30 years old. Mr. Woodard also has a clean- head or close cut with a thin mustache and goatee.
