On January 13, 2003 Nathaniel Every Jr. of 104 Iris St. Age 42 appeared in the City Court of Thibodaux for scheduled trial on the charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
While Mr. Every was speaking with the City Prosecutor, the prosecutor detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Mr. Every.
Judge David Richard was then informed of the City Prosecutorís findings. Judge Richard then ordered a Thibodaux Police officer, who was in court for an unrelated trial, to administer an intoxalizer test at Thibodaux Police Department.
The results of the intoxalizer test showed Mr. Every to have a current blood alcohol content of .197g% (grams/percent).
With these finding, Judge Richard charged Mr. Every with being in Contempt of Court and a bench warrant was issued in the amount of $5000.00. Unable to post this, Mr. Every was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.
