On January 8, 2003, Thibodaux Police officers arrested Thomas Eric Striker for Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling.
During the evening hours of January 7, 2003, Thibodaux Police Department officers were informed of a residential burglary that occurred within the city limits of Thibodaux.
Victim stated that her ex-boyfriend, Thomas Eric Striker, forced his way into her home while she and her daughter were home and hiding in a rear bedroom. When Mr. Striker did enter the bedroom, both were able to escape without harm. It was ultimately learned that Mr. Striker did take $500.00 from this bedroom.
Officers later found Mr. Striker’s vehicle at a local hotel which they then monitored in the event Mr. Striker tried to leave. An arrest warrant for Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling was then issued for Mr. Striker’s arrest.
With the arrest warrant in hand, Thibodaux Police Officers were able to take Mr. Striker into custody.
In the hotel room, officers located a handgun. The handgun’s serial number was checked in the National Crime Information Center System which did showed the weapon as being stolen from Jefferson Parish.
Mr. Striker was then brought to Thibodaux Police where he was booked for the warrant issued as well as the additional charge of Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Mr. Striker is currently being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center with a $50,000.00 bond
Detectives from The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office did come and question Mr. Striker in reference to several crimes that occurred in the Jefferson Parish area.
