The Norman Swanner Dog Park is nearly done! The 32,000 square-foot park is split into two fields: a large dog area and a small dog area. Although the park is completely ready for our furry friends (fenced, water, and waste stations), Kirk Chiasson, the Cityís Parks Director stated, "We hope to install park benches and pour concrete for a sidewalk very soon."
The park has been made possible (primarily) because of the generous donations from the Norman Swanner Big Boy Fund ($25,000), the Peltier Foundation ($10,000), and Raising Caneís ($5,000). Additionally, the sixteen (16) benches that will be installed were each donated by individuals and organizations. (We will post a donors list, when available).
A grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held early next year. Keep watching for more updates!
