Occupational Licenses

The City of Thibodaux is committed to encouraging, supporting, and assisting new business development within the City. Business development provides a major contribution to our economic growth. All businesses operating within the City limits of Thibodaux are required to obtain an Occupational License.

New Online Services Offered for Occupational Licenses

The City of Thibodaux has implemented new online services to apply for a NEW Occupational License or to renew your current Occupational License. Please do not hesitate to call the Tax and License office at (985) 446-7221 or (985) 446-7207 with any questions or for further assistance to utilize this new service as we aim to make this as convenient as possible for all.

 Online instructions:
  •  Create a new account or associate a license to an existing online member account. Complete the application process after receiving approval from the Tax & License office.
     
  • Enter information and submit application after receiving approval notification. For New applications, required documents should be sent to the Tax & License office by email, fax or mail before a license can be finalized and released. 
     
  • Notification of calculated fee(s) and balance due will be sent to the applicant if the application and documents are approved. Applicants will be notified by email stating the reason(s) if rejected.
     
  • Approved applicants have the option to pay online with a Visa or MasterCard, by phone, or in person. Once payment is received, the new license will be mailed in approximately 1-2 weeks.
     

There will be a transaction fee of $1.25 and a convenience fee of $2.25 for all online transactions. The $1.25 transaction fee will appear as a separate charge on bank statement. The total of license fee and $2.25 convenience fee will appear on bank statement as a charge from “INCODE” – Tyler Technologies. The transaction will generate an email confirmation to the customer.
