Peltier Park To Accept Donations For Flood Victims
Mayor Tommy Eschete has announced that both the Offices of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Thibodaux have organized a food and household goods drive starting today, Aug. 15 for the victims of the flood disaster in our neighboring parishes.
The Cityís collection point will be located at the Peltier Park Recreation Center, 151 Peltier Park Drive.
Items will be accepted today from noon to 8 p.m. and tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The collection effort will continue until further notice. It would be extremely helpful if items donated can be boxed so as to ease in the loading of trucks.
We will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items, household paper products, cleaning supplies, disposable diapers, bottled water, pet supplies and blankets. At this point we are not accepting clothing as there are many efforts in other areas which have already done that.
This effort is being undertaken in conjunction with the efforts of Lafourche Parish Government, who will be collecting donations in the other areas of the Parish.
