Mayor Advises Residents to Prepare Now for Possible Impacts From Tropical System
Since it currently appears that Tropical Storm Nate may intensify into a minimal hurricane by this weekend, Mayor Tommy Eschete is recommending that everyone begin the process to put their own emergency plan into effect.
It is forecast that this storm will impact southeast Louisiana with rain and high winds as early as late Saturday afternoon and into Sunday morning. Everyone should stay tuned to television or radio weather forecasts and take all precautions necessary to deal with this weather event.
Residents are advised to pick up all loose items from their yards which may be blown around by the potentially high winds. In addition, please check all the ditches and catch basins around your home to insure that our drainage infrastructure is able to handle any heavy rain this system generates.
As usual, sand bags are available to all residents. We will deliver bags to our disabled residents upon request.
