Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Thibodaux Fire Department and City of Thibodaux Seek to Assist Those in Hurricane Affected Areas
The Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department is joining forces with the City of Thibodaux to collect monetary donations along with donations of cleaning supplies for those affected by hurricanes.
The price to load a truck full of water (1596 cases) that will be delivered directly to the affected areas is $3999. The fire department and City would like to see how many truckloads they can send to its neighbors affected by these storms. Donations will be accepted until further notice.
If you are making a monetary donation, checks can be made out to Thibodaux Volunteer Dept and mailed to P.O. Box 1421, Thibodaux, LA 70302 or be given to any fire department member. If you will be making a cash donation you are asked to place the cash in a sealed envelope and write on the outside, TVFD Hurricane Relief.
These donations can be dropped off at City Hall, 310 West 2nd Street, Thibodaux, at the utilities collection window Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you would rather donate cleaning supplies, those items can be dropped off at the Peltier Park Recreation Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
All money collected no matter what the amount will be used to purchase supplies to be sent to the hurricane affected areas.
